"Back to route" button in CarPlay

Hi Guido,

today I was on a simple route (only destination, no vias nor stops) when I missed a turn and left my route. (I am using the "do not recalculate" mode.)

I wanted to get a new route to my destination. So on my CarPlay display I pressed the button that I highlighted below and got the new route immediately. Everything fine so far.

Later, on my way home (again a destination only route), I left the calculated route deliberately and again I wanted to get a new route. Clicked the same button again and ...nothing happened. Tried multiple times.

So I opened the buttons menu to select "Take me back to the route" button. And found that the button had lost its icon. Clicking on it yielded ...nothing again.

So it was not possible to get new directions without stopping the old one and starting a new route.
Could you please have a look?

Hi Martin,

That's strange. Just to double check... did you start a new navigaiton session for the way back? In other words, it was exactly the same sequence of events? Only on way back the button did not work / not have an icon?

Hi Guido,

between the two rides I recall ony one difference:

On the first ride I entered the desrination address via Carplay screen.

On the way back I selected the stored „Home“ address.

I so not remeber any more differences. Best, Martin

@pe112 how was your data connection the second time? I've experienced issues like this with nothing happening when you press things and I wonder if it happens when there is no (or a weak) data connection?

Sorry, I did not pay attention to my cell phone connection when it happened. I did not know this might be of concern.
but given that I was in on relatively open area in my city which usually has very good coverage I would guess that the connection was ok. But of course you never know.
