Auto-skip via points
Quote from Dewercs on 21.07.2022, 14:37Maybe some other settings that I have aren’t correct but I can’t get Auto-skip via points to work on version 3.12. It is constantly trying to re-route to the via that I want to miss and I know I’m out of the Skip distance range. Is this a problem in this version or do I need to check other settings?

Quote from Guido on 21.07.2022, 18:07You are saying that you are OUTSIDE of the skip distance. In other words, you are NOT inside the skip-distance range of the via at the moment you detour. Is that the correct understanding?
If so, then the behaviour is as designed. The auto-skip feature will only skip via points INSIDE the skip distance radius from your current location.
Auto-skip via points is a tricky setting. To be honest, for almost all situations I recommend to leave this to OFF, as it can change your route dramatically when you detour. This is because it can removing a bunch of via points, recalculate the route without those via points, leading to the route taking completely different roads.
What I recommend is to turn 'Auto-Skip' via points OFF, and then, if need be, manually skip a via point through the 'Skip Via/Stop' button in the navigation menu. See this earlier post of mine for a bit more info and a screenshot: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/reroute-at-detour-not-working/#postid-3587
