As Tour Organiser for my motorcycle club, The London & South East Motorcycle Club (LSEMC), we have, until recently, been using the free Calimoto app for planning and navigation on our group rides and tours.
However, because Calimoto no longer offer their free option, and the cost of a subscription isn’t small, I and our 125 members, are now looking for a replacement, preferably as either a free or low-cost option (most of us are not wealthy!).

- provide cross-platform commonality & compatibility
- be free or low cost
- designed for motorcyclists
- allows route planning in the UK and overseas (especially Europe)
- allow choices of rides including one-way or circular, choices or levels of difficulty / windy routes
- Allowing avoidance of specific roads (unpaved, ferry, motorways, toll roads etc.)
- Able to record, save & share routes for planning and later use
- Regular updates
It would also be ideal if it also provided:
- off-line maps as there are many remote areas without good 4G data service
- the ability to share maps with members so we can split-up into rider groups on a ride and regroup at way-points, have points of interest and biker friendly stops & refreshments identified, road hazards, speed cameras, possibly even visibility of terrain (altitude etc.)
- the ability to see and share live location of other member on a ride, just in case we accidentally get split-up or for other more serious issues causing a delay or unavoidable stop
- Tie in with other navigational products, such as What3Words, Ordinance Survey and Lat/Long location (either classic degrees, minutes, seconds format or digital)
We understand that the Android version has been under development for quite a long time. Please can you confirm if you now have a confirmed timetable for the release and the final specification?
As I do not own an iOS device (iPhone) I rely on my Samsung S21 Ultra 5G, thus I cannot assess your current product.
However, as a professional in IT for 40 years, with a career across programming, networks, IT security and as a Prince2 Project Manager; I would be happy if you should wish to include me in a Beta-Testing programme for the Android product or as a tester of the released product to assess viability for all our membership.
