Also Skip Stops
Quote from WD-40 on 21.11.2021, 09:06So far the app has be the best so far for motorcycle navigation, even better than my Garmin Zumo. The issue is, there seems to be no way to automatically skip a stop. I ended up doing a loop instead of turning where the route was intended to go. It seems the app did not recognize that I had not missed to stop and unlike via points did not skip and routed me back unbeknownst to me. Anyway, other than that, awesome app! Thank you for your work!

Quote from Guido on 21.11.2021, 11:32It’s actually on purpose that stops are not skipped automatically. You can skip them manually by using the ‘Skip X’ button in the navigation menu (big button menu). Where X is the name of the upcoming point. Either ‘Via X’ or the name of the stop itself.
If you get within 50 meters of a stop or via, Scenic considers it as ‘reached’. If you pass it further away than 50 meters you’ll have to Skip it manually.
The reasons why it’s designed like this is that stops are meant to be points on the route where you actually want to stop. Like a restaurant or a gas station. In other words, a point where you really want to go, even if you deviate by accident. . Vias are meant to force the route a certain way and if you deviate, its not such a big deal so they will automatically be skipped if you enabled that setting.

Last weekend, the tour guide skipped a stop and I was listening to route recalculations for the next hour.
I agree that stops should not be skipped the same way as via points are.
But.... if a stop is not hit, but I continue the original route and hit the next 1-2 via points after the stop... I think that's a clear sign the stop has been skipped and it could be renoved.
An alternative would be to have an "info point" that looks like a stop point but behaves like a via point and is includes in the "show time and distance to" setting.
For the nice to have lust... maybe?
For the next tour, I'll convert stops to vias and put a bright POI point next to it.

Another option is to get touch enabled gloves (I think most pairs are nowadays) or convert your current ones to be touch enabled (I did this myself and works well): https://scenic.app/iphone-motorcycle-gps-8-things-to-consider/ (nr 4)
