Actual position marker while navigating with Carplay

Hi Guido,

is there a reason for the actual position marker, not to be centered on the available map screen? I anticipate, this is because of the 2 navigation information bars, laying in the foreground, on top of the map...

But would it not be a cool feature to center the position, use then the complete width of the screen and offer the overlaying bar background and text colour with a configurable setup and changeable transparency, to enable the map underneath to be visible as well? Furthermore if the Carplay device has a configuration bubble almost at the same position, as mine, this would be a big help...

The CarPlay UI is very limited by Apple. I can not make the bars showing next instruction and ETA transparent. Furthermore... in your screenshot the next turn instruction only shows 800 meters. But... if the name of the next road or next exit is known, this will also show, making the top left area a lot bigger. Sometimes it even covers the entire left side until just above the ETA bar. This is why the current position is centered off to the right.

Not sure what you mean with this bubble. Never seen this before. Where does it come from? Is this form accessibility settings?

Exactly Guido,

this configures the brightness and volume settings directly in carplay mode. After tipping on the bubble, an extra overlay is displayed and suppressed sgain. So, you do not need to exit carplay, modify the settings and jump back into carplay again.

Ok, I understand it's not possible with the UI limitations. But would it be possible to implement a choice for centered position and non centered position?

Technically possible. I'll add it to the list, but have to be honest. At the moment there are many more items on the list with higher priority.

And maybe another question. Since some time I get G-L-O-B-U-S commercial pop ups, while using Scenic, which interrupts and crashes my barbuttons usage sometimes.

This does not pop up automatically. Only when you tap the "GLOBUS" attribution on the map. Example:

It can be at different locations. Usually in a corner or centered at the bottom of the map.

Ah ok, maybe I tapped it by error with the gloves... 😁 but, good to know. I will keep an eye on it in the future! 👍🏻
