A question about offline maps (how to update them?)

Newbie here - I've downloaded a few offline maps for an upcoming trip and I wondered how Scenic handles the versioning of these maps? Does it let me know when a new version of the map is available and is there an 'update' option or must we manually delete the maps and redownload closer to the actual trip? TIA.

You will be notified in the app when there are updates, both for the map framework and each map ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks @johansw.

A small addition to what Johan said...

HERE releases map updates almost every week. To reduce strain on the map servers, and save you some time, Scenic won't give you notifications for all those updates. This is because updates can take a long time and cause a lot of data traffic, depending on how many offline maps you have installed.

So, if everyone would update all their offline maps every week, this would put an enormous strain on the map server. That's why Scenic throttles and randomizes the "new map version available" notification amongst its user base. On average, you'll get a notification every month, which typically is more than enough to have an up-to-date map.

If you really want to update earlier, you can tap your profile pic in the side menu > Offline Maps. If an update is available, you'll see a big red button at the top saying 'Update Map Version'. I recommend waiting, though, until you get the notification.

One more thing... please wait with updating the maps until Scenic v3.54 is released to the App Store in the next few days. In that version I've improved the map updating process.

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me โค๏ธ

Thanks Guido, will do. It's a bit frosty in my region at the moment so I'm just learning Scenic and planning for a trip in early summer so most of my questions these days are forward looking in anticipation. Cheers.
