I will get you the screenshot from iPhone tomorrow.

Quote from Guido on 04.07.2025, 02:08Hmmm. I see what you mean.
Again, this is going to be a complicated one to explain:
On CarPlay there is a safe area where elements can be placed. This area is between the CarPlay toolbar on the left and the 4 buttons (menu, zoom, skip wpt) on the right.
I did implement a correction for this, shifting the compass/etc. to the right of the safe area so that it's above the buttons (and probably under the buttons partially, but acceptable). To do this... I need to know if this is a right hand drive or left hand drive CarPlay system. Because if it's right hand drive, the shifting is not necessary.
Unfortunately there is no safe-safe way to do this. Apple CarPlay does not provide a way to know if it's left-hand or right-hand drive system (on right-hand drive systems the carplay templates are mirrored (the carplay toolbar is on the right, the map buttons are on the left and the next instruction + ETA is on the right).
The "workaround" I applied to find out if it's right-hand drive or left-hand drive, is to check the safe area margin on the left side with the margin on the right side. On most CarPlay system, the map button width is wider than the CarPlay toolbar. But... looking at you picture, I think for your CarPlay system this is not the case, and thus it treats it as a right-hand-drive CarPlay system and does NOT shift the elements to the right.
I don't think there is anything I can do about this as there is no 100% reliable way to find out if this is a right-hand or left-hand drive carplay system. The only thing I can do is add a user setting so you can manually tell Scenic if your CarPlay is right-hand or left-hand drive. I'll do that for the next update.

Thanks for the update. I am using left hand US specs CarPlay but still these icons are misaligned. Tomorrow I am going to test it on my motorcycle Carpuride and Chigee CarPlay as well to give you the feedback.

I have tested Scenic 4.21 on three different CarPlay devices, including LHD Car, Carpuride and Chigee. On all of them, the Compass and Altitude displays are misaligned.
I have attached the screenshots from my iPhone.

Quote from Guido on 04.07.2025, 19:21Ok. Thank you. I tested this on the CarPlay simulator and it worked flawlessly there. I’ll have another look testing on a real CarPlay device. Sorry for the trouble!

I did my tour from 14/06 to 28/06 using 4.21(1) and 4.21(2). My wife and I used Chigee 5 and Chigee 6 devices. We didn’t get the issue.
The compass overlaps here, but only because the top menu was displayed whilst using Siri to take the screenshot. When the menu went away everything was fine.

Quote from Guido on 05.07.2025, 00:14Ok. Thank you @Dae. Happy to see I wasn’t imagining things when I was testing this. In any case there must be something different between you guys.
@dae and @blackhawk1618 , sticking with the chigee as you both have that… what model do you have (for Dae I know it’s the 5 & 6) and are you connecting to it with cable or wirelessly? (assuming that both is possible???)

Didn’t Scenic 4.21 version released on June 30th? I am not sure if you referring to beta versions.

Quote from Guido on 05.07.2025, 00:37Ok. That solves that than 4.21(2) has a “fix” for the bug where the compass scales etc. shifted behind the turn instruction on right-hand-drive CarPlay systems. I tested in the simulator if that didn’t affect the left-hand-drive systems, but obviously that didn’t work on real devices then. Will re-investigate.

I updated to version 4.22 and tested it, everything works perfectly - except that some CarPlay features are still missing.
I hope you will be adding and fixing those soon.

Quote from thomas.k on 13.07.2025, 14:31I have a 6” CarPlay Unit similar to Carpuride w603. Scenic 4.21 has aligned fine (like the objects lower right, no screenshot), but with v4.22 the altitude and compass are moved right and slightly cutted. Looks not so nice.

I prefer the previous version, which worked fine for me. 😉 Could the moving be a user setting?

Quote from Guido on 14.07.2025, 06:44Scenic shifts these elements to the right with the exact margins/padding that is reported by the CarPlay system. Not sure why this results into shifting off screen with your unit. I’ll have a look. Making it user configurable is always possible, but seems unnecessary for me. It should just work. I’ll investigate. For my info … what is the brand /model of your unit?

I could test a beta version, if necessary.
