3D or not to 3D, that is the question...
Quote from Marts on 19.12.2024, 17:59Yesterday on another drive in the car I was, again, testing Scenic. This time I noticed that 3D implementation has some quirks.
When it opened in CarPlay I tapped on the screen to start a route. It was showing in 2D. I tapped the screen, then the menu button on the bottom left, then tapped on the button that said "2D". It changed to 3D. I went back to the screen, still showing 2D. I then went to that menu and tapped on the "3D" button, back to the map screen and it was now showing 3D mode. All good.
When I stopped for something. Car off, phone disconnected, into the store, back out, car started, phone back in (if I do that bit in reverse order the phone isn't seen by the Kia's CarPlay) and it resumed its navigation but it was in 2D mode. I changed that button to 2D, back to the map, still 2D, back to the menu, tap on 3D and back to the map screen. SHowing 3D, all good.
At one point I swapped apps in CarPlay to load a podcast. I then swapped back to Scenic and it was back in 2D display. Repeated the above steps to get it back to 3D. Phew! (you know, it would take 3 seconds to actually show what's happening compared to trying to describe it all in words).
Anyway, as we were driving, the Messages app popped up a window with a new message. When I acknowledged that and the window disappeared, Scenic was back in 2D mode!
I haven't tested this directly in the app with no CarPlay so I don't know if the app itself in iOS does this. The use case for Scenic is to use it in CarPlay on the bike and in the car. Oh, I haven't tested it on the bike (using the Chigee AIO-5 Lite) yet so I don't know if it's Scenic or Kia's implementation of CarPlay which is doing it.

das gleiche hatte ich auch schon beschrieben.
Das gleiche passiert bei mir auch im Skoda Caroq.
Und das passiert erst seit 4.09. unter 4.08 war Carplay ohne diese Wechsel völlig Fehlerfrei.
