2 new feature requests
Quote from chupa88 on 20.08.2025, 07:38I'd like to suggest two new features:
- Manually arrange routes in custom order within a folder. This is helpful when you just want certain routes to appear in your own arrangement order.
- Scenic to automatically add more via points on a route. Sometimes when I import a Google Map link there are very few vias generated. I usually add more myself. It would be helpful if Scenic can auto populate more. I find more via points to be a more accurate route and easier to find the original route if I miss a turn or pick it up in the middle of a route.
Thanks!

Regarding the via points from Google Maps. Scenic ads via points for every "drag point" in Google Maps (where you grab the route and drag it). If you want more via points directly from Google Maps, I recommend grabbing the route in Google Maps and drag it up and down so a via point is generated.

HI @chupa88,
just wondering - why are you not just adding a number or date to your route naming ? Adding the date and if on the same date a number like "RdGA 16.6. : from - to ", while sorting the folder ascending, solves it perfectly for me, that also works nicely on CarPlay.
Kind regards, Markus

Quote from chupa88 on 25.08.2025, 07:13Yes, while that may work, it is certainly a hack/workaround. I have done something like this with using am exclamation point at the front of the route and sort by name. But given your workaround, if I want another route to go between route 6 and 7, then I'll have to rename 7 to 8, 8 to 9, and so on for the next 10 routes. Or name it 6A or 6B, 6-01, 6-02, etc. Again while it may work, it's hardly ideal for an app in 2025. The ability to just tap and drag into a custom order is infinitely easier.
While this may be a low priority feature add, it is certainly not an uncommon feature for any current day app that makes custom sorting very easy for the end user..

Quote from sdk on 29.08.2025, 05:22Hi,
My naming pattern is:
Folder:
- 2025-08-15 Dolomiten Tour
Files inside:
- Dolomiten Tour Day 1 - Meet the guys in Horb
- Dolomiten Tour Day 2 - Horb to Ronzone, Italy (Hotel ...)
- Dolomiten Tour Day 3 - Pass xxxyyy
This does not only solve the sorting "issue", but also provides a sufficiently detailed route name for export and sharing.
It's very rare that I have multiple tours per day. And if so, I name it "... Day 1 Tour 1 - ..." etc.
There's of course a bunch of Tours that got little love in the "Favorite" folder. It's more an "Unsorted" folder for me. I wouldn't manually sort stuff in there... stuff I care about goes in folders.
Maybe this helps a little.
Ride safe,
Stefan
