I’m the owner and developer of the Scenic App. Together with a small team I run the Scenic App, write the Scenic Blog and send out our ‘Moto Monthly’ newsletter, with our own reviews, the latest of the motorcycle industry and all things Scenic.

It will come as no surprise that I’m an enthusiastic Motorcycle Rider. When I started riding in 2008 I wanted to know where the best scenic roads were for Motorcycle Riding. It always took me quite some time to find nice routes on the internet and then I was stuck with the challenge on how to follow that exact route.

After experimenting with paper maps, printed directions, iPads in tank bags, Mainstream Navigation Apps, Garmin Zumos, etc. I came to the conclusion that there was no ideal solution out there. So, in my quest for the perfect Route Finding and Navigating solution I decided to start working on an app in my free time. A few years later I quit my corporate job and put all my efforts into Scenic (still called MotoMappers at that time). It was officially registered as a company in July 2014.

Scenic, or rather its predecessor MotoMap, was the first motorcycle navigation app on the iOS App Store. And now, about 10 years later, I’m happy to report that Scenic is still the leading motorcycle navigation app on iOS, while the android version is being developed as we speak.

Over time we’ve managed to keep the Scenic team small, agile and independent of outside investors and influence. No-one tells us what to do, except you! We’re adding new features and improvements constantly based on your feedback. Have a look at the forum to get an idea.

Although we are a small team, we’ve chosen to keep answering all of your questions and feedback personally! It’s something we enjoy and it helps us stay in touch. And from what I’ve learned it’s something that you – in an era of big faceless companies with overseas customer service centers and scripted answers – appreciate a lot as well.

If you have any questions, comments or feedback, I’m happy to help! You can contact me through the support page. If you’d like to connect with me for business purposes, see my LinkedIn profile.

Ride Safe and Enjoy the Ride!
